SUPER STUNNING!!! Waterfalls, transportation trail with Jurassic ambience, even the triangle treasure beach, forest, mountain is so awesome from Puncak Darma!!! And if you are lucky, Puncak Gerbang will be sooooooo stunning when the weather and sunlight at the perfect time!! I uploaded a picture in Puncak Gerbang but not at the perfect moment, but still amazing for me the picture with many floating things on the sea I don’t know what should I call it haha. But, the only thing that I don’t like from this place is.. Some roads have super extreme incline, especially Tanjakan Dini. Just be careful when you chose this pathway!!! It's a 6 hour drive from Jakarta but you feel like you have entered an entirely different world. The air is clean, the hills are impressive and covered in dense foliage and there is good bird life throughout the region. Some of the waterfalls can be visited by just a short walk from your car while others offer 30-40 minute hikes for the more adventurous and fit. It's best to organize a local driver who knows the road conditions and where everything is to make sure you can make the most of your stay. We stayed at Ciletuh Hills which is a brand new resort right next to Curug Sodong and Cikanteh two of the finest waterfalls in the park and it has a few villa's with amazing views, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and high quality air condition. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a base to explore the park. They also organize very reasonably priced "Safari Tours" to the main attractions in the park using high clearance vehicles that will safely get you to any of the parks many destinations. This place is one of the few remaining true paradises in West Java. If you plan a visit avoid the weekend or long weekends if possible or else you might encounter crowds escaping Jakarta. Fascinating drive through the serpentine hilly roads finally paid off when I arrived at Puncak Darma, from where you take a 3600 view around the entire Geopark covered in thick canopy of fauna and flora. Usually drive to a beach Pantai is on plain land or downhill. However this was unique, the drive to the beach at Ciletuh was an ascent, which goes to show that Jakarta is actually situated at a low level making it prone to flooding during heavy rains. My route Ciemas - Puncak Darma - Curug Cimarin jung - Geopark CIletuh - Curug Sodong – PanenjoanPros The drive is fascinating. Similar to the experience if you have driven on the Pacific Coast highway from San Diego to San Francisco. There is a certain stretch once you descend, it takes you right at the edge of the cliff with sea on one side and mountain on the other. Good roads serpentine like on a camel back. Once you arrive at the Geopark, the view is breath taking. Lot of local eatery along the road. No worries. Cons People not used to serpentine mountainous road, take precaution. A bit warm to my liking.
